FREE TIP FRIDAY - In our deepest moments of suffering, we can remind ourselves that we can't predict or even foresee what joy or pockets of good fortune might be coming. Our imagination can be limited to our past experiences. The more suffering we have experienced, the more we might be drawn to worst case scenarios in an effort to prepare and be able to cope. Saw a client this morning who suffered greatly the last two years only to experience the most victorious accomplishment in their career this past week. Reminds me of this important mindfulness tool when our anxiety takes us to projecting the worst for our future. We can gently remind our hearts and spirits that along with the harder surprises that life brings our way, it is very very likely we will also experience more love, big and small personal victories and be surprised by life in the best possible ways as well. Our mental time travel can be balanced out a bit with some faith. #freetipfriday#selfcare#mindfulness#anxietyhelp#anxietymanagement#traumarecovery22 ♡ 0 ✍
Though pretty simple terms, your and you're are commonly used incorrectly. Your is the possessive adjective of you. It is generally used as a modifier before a noun. Example: I am interested in learning more about your services. You're, on the other hand, is a contraction of the two words: you and are. So essentially, you're means you are. Example: You're the best at what you do. 41 ♡ 3 ✍
Ironic that I skipped @janetheclapp's Embodied Boundaries webinar last night to attend #BJJ class at @openmatmma where I learned about embodied boundaries up close and personal! (If your opponent has passed your guard and you can't get your leg in between your bodies, push them away with your hand til you can replace your hand with your foot and then straighten your leg, et cetera.) Thankfully, the recorded webinar was available today, as is a whole host of resources at RecoverYourWarrior.com. #alltheboundaries#BoundariesPeople#PleaseDontJudgeMyMisuseofIronic#Repost @janetheclapp (@get_repost)
FREE TIP FRIDAY - Being able to tune into our gut (AKA enteric nervous system or second brain) and learn how to interpret our gut sensations is essential for knowing when a boundary violation has happened or when a boundary needs to be set. But how do we know what is a gut instinct vs. what is chronic anxiety we might carry with us? I'll talk about this is my free Embodied Boundaries webinar September 14th. REGISTRATION LINK IN PROFILE. Given the number of people who have already registered, it's clear how much we all want to learn about healthier boundaries!! #freetipfriday#embodiedintuition#embodiedboundaries#boundaries#boundariesarehealthy#gutinstincts#entericnervoussystem#traumarecovery#ptsd17 ♡ 2 ✍

FREE TIP FRIDAY - Want to change your life starting, like right now? Close your mouth every time you notice yourself mouth breathing. Google the effects of mouth breathing. Too many to list here. I have had basically all the negative impacts of mouth breathing apart from sleep apnea. In my teens, I even had my upper and lower jaw sliced and realigned and put back together with titanium screws and plates. I'm bionic. Not something that might happen today. My daughter uses something called a myobrace that few dentists are yet offering to change habitual mouth breathing and realign the jaw. And I shit you not. After taking buteyko lessons 2.5 years back, I tape my mouth shut every night. My allergies have been almost nonexistent. It's easier to regulate the physiology of toxic stress and trauma if we learn to nose breath too. I could go on. If you have nasal obstructions that impede your ability to nose breath, it's worth pushing for medical assistance to resolve. @jennifer.snowdon is one of my go to Buteyko coaches in Toronto if you want to find out more. #nosebreathing#mouthbreather#bodywisdomforwomen#freetipfriday#closeyourmouth#buteyko#ans#traumarecovery#ptsdrecovery97 ♡ 14 ✍
