2 months postpartum, 24 kilos weight gain and massive RA flare up after being in remission throughout pregnancy. Forced to stop breast feeding 2 weeks postpartum as I needed to go back on methotrexate. I was given high doses of cortisone tablets and injected but still no improvement. I waited 1 year as I had to be trailed to fail all medications before eligible for a TNF blocker. In the mean time I could not care for my baby properly, bones continued to cripple and hubby took time off work to help me, holding my child, changing nappies and feeding him was my daily struggle as my left hand couldn't close and my fingers began to separate. Hubby began carrying me as my AS took a toll on my back and hit the nerves in my legs, I was lipping at best. Once given my TNF blocker my mobility improved. Despite my struggles I still lost weight, I ate clean and stayed active even if it hurt, I didn't want to give in to the disease and let it win, I knew my mind was stronger than that, I not only was I fighting for myself but my son as well. I had every reason under the sun to gain weight and be lazy BUT I DIDN'T!!! I knew the only way to fight weakness is with strength 💪

2 1/2 years postpartum, best shape of my life! Training 5 days minimum and 6-7 days leading up to my comp. Not one ache in my bones and hitting PB'S 100kg squats, 60Kg bench press (body weight 55kg) after not even able to hold a tiny 5kg baby. Not only has competing and the process of prep challenged me mentally and physically but Im able to do what doctors have doubted me for years of what I am cable of. I was once told my feet were so cripples the chances of me walking again where slim. I was told children weren't in the cards for me either. I've accepted this disease is incurable but I will never accept it taking over my body, I will continue to fight it until the day I die because as long my thoughts are strong I can overcome ANYTHING and do the impossible. Never judge those of us who go the gym as arrogant or vein, everyone has a story. Some of us do it for therapy, sanity, confidence, to get strong, fit, healthy ect.. and some of us curing the incurable 👊 50 ♡ 9 ✍
Put in the work and give it time.
Just like a seed that bears good fruit, you need to go through the process of being planted, being watered, getting more sun, breaking through the soil - it is the slowest and most painful part but if you break through you will get more sunlight, get pollinated (networking) and most importantly bear lots of good fruits and reap a bountiful harvest.
Enjoy the process. The quality of the process determines the quality of the results.
Every good success you see today has put in the work for months/even years. Stop comparing, continue to nurture your plant and the soil on which you have planted. #embracethegrind27 ♡ 1 ✍

Transformation Tuesday 38 weeks pregnant versus 2 weeks post pregnancy. I was 68 kg when I was going to labour waist 87cm hips 100cm and boost 87cm now I'm 61kg waist 76cm hips 96cm and boost 89cm 🙈 before pregnancy I was 54kg waist 65cm hips 89cm and boost 87cm as my back was wider. I still have long way to go to get back to my shape but I'm not in hurry I still don't properly track my macros coz just want my baby to put on weight first and give her healthy milk and doing just lot of strolling with pram and pelvic floor excercises that's about it for now. I know I'll get back to my shape but for now I'm letting my body do it's work 👼🏻🙌🏻#postpartumbody#transformation#fitmotivation#fitmom#fitness#healthy#postpregnancybody#2weeksold#babygirl#progress#breastfeeding#newborn#healthylifestyle# 21 ♡ 1 ✍
