So the real issue is how do we gently stop being who we aren't? You have to make mistakes to find out who you aren't. Relieve yourself the pressure of perfection, the pressure of how others perceive you and the brutal pressure of how you perceive yourself. Stop people pleasing and appeasing those who don't matter (which is everyone..minus you, by the way) The human experience in which we call life isn't meant to be some miserable trek while carrying around baggage full of poor choices and what-if's. We're all human, we're all figuring it out together. Give yourself some grace and while you're at it, give yourself some darn credit! Your 5 year plan is in the gutter, you didn't make the team, you're not bringing in six figures, you didn't cure cancer and you're still single, maybe with a few pets, maybe with a few kids BUT the journey doesn't end there UNLESS you let it. We're so easily defined by mere pieces of ourselves that we forget there's more. Remind yourself of your depth, your story, your strength and your future. You're more than a college dropout, more than a single mom, more than a 'disappointment', more than someone who's married to their career and longs for a family. You can't predict the future, you don't have a time stamp to measure the length of your life but ONLY YOU can make the in between count. Only you can measure the depth of your life. The adventure, the love, the tears, the letting go, the hurt, the joy, the advancement, disappointment and the epiphanies that follow after some of the hardest times. You get choices EVERY DAY to make your life GREATER. The beautiful thing about trying to figure out who you are is that you never truly will piece it all together. Times will change, you'll change. The chase is what makes it fun. You only get one life, why waste it wallowing in temporary despair? Take action. Gain insight. Choose to chase the you that YOU want to be. 17 ♡ 2 ✍

ok but besides the celebration, I have a down side to today (/the past week) as well. obv there were lots of sweet treats at this birthday party... I ate a lot of them. and a lot of food. and it was so not #fitgirl of me. and I'm unhappy about that. .
seriously guys, I'm taking the time in this post to air out some feels, so bear with me-- this is a long one. 📝
I'm at the point where I'm getting really frustrated with myself. 😞 this happens every time I see any little sign of progress with my weight: I feel like I'm right on track (last month I lost 5 lbs), then I get a little too comfortable with what I've lost, start to say "ehh it's ok, I lost a little weight so I have wiggle room to eat this extra cupcake/ appetizer/what have you" and then I slack on meal prepping and I don't work out and I feel lazy and crappy and that goes on for the next week -- like it has here. and I'm so sick of it halting my progress. and I'm trying SO HARD to get my brain to snap out of this, but I'm struggling. I have been complaining my way through this uphill battle and I don't feel like I'm nearly even halfway up. it's been one of those weeks at a low point for me and I need to tell myself that I AM WORTH THIS JOURNEY. my bad habits need to go, pronto. and I'm working on that, but experiencing a major setback in this process. I really need your positive vibes more than ever to get me through the rest of this challenge on a strong note. 🙏🏼 20 ♡ 3 ✍
