Repost from @khamitkinks - At the Hairdresser- 1906
"In a private corner of the yard, a woman takes time to fix a young girl's hair maybe for a special event such as a wedding or a baptism. Other family members look on from afar. Dressing hair and barbering were skills that particular people had, and therefore, they were in constant demand for their services. Perhaps, they were able to barter their skills to secure other needed favors from relatives and neighbors."

I wondered what picture do I have to mark #earthDay. Then I came across this Black Spiny-Tailed Iguana at St. John's in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Why an #iguana? Because most share the same chromosome from a common ancestor dating back to the Cretaceous Period. That's 140 million years ago when dinosaurs walked the earth! This can be a reminder to us all to try and save those living things on the endangered, vulnerable, and threatened species list ::: #nature#outdoors#hike#explore#virginislands#lizard18 ♡ 2 ✍
